What if? (1)

December 15, 2011

#10 What if? (1)

What if all my pillows of sleep
those gather near your breasts
curl into a tissue of tears and scars?
My street lights went mellow,
you walked on my petals,
I breathe like your treadmill,
you catch the shadows and paint
you pebbles of paths,
we’ll never walk or cry together.
Nectar in your eyes,
I’ll never regret.

Decided

#9 Decided

Two or three ways about it,
rush and spill the silk over nothing.
Scarecrows, we stood and watched
the field, the birds escaped us green.
We held on to the phantom,
the planet beyond the eclipse

Afraid to choose

December 11, 2011

#8 Afraid to choose

Divided into multiple,
afraid to choose the tree,
the shade that spreads over cups
of evenings. The windmill chose my body,
I chose the blades and into a million pieces
for tomorrow and the day after.

Repetition

#7 Repetition

Glowing and radiant you sit in front
of our story. My eyes can’t miss a thing.
It’s about summer days that never came,
of scarves and little fingers that twist
in and out of shadows. The frames of black,
the nectar of smiles, circle around our
dishes of soft light. I repeat words as you
repeat your love.

Over

#6 Over

Thank you for bricks and stones.
the stream ran out of steam as we
lost each other in a moonlit
conversation. Let the rail take me back
to the station of the master.
ghost of towers rose above my
shoulders. Crimson was flying in
this direction when my eyes closed me in.
I shook my head and climbed down
the window.

Residue

#5 Residue

Count me in if you are drinking
from the residue. Every bottom knows
what’s left over.  Ketchup stains all over
the napkins which spread the table
narrating of a dinner of the past.
I walk to the window, always with a scent
of the oblivious.
I wasn’t there.
I am now.
